Is this the culmination of Reagonomics,or neocon economics or whatever you want to call it? Have we proved that deregulation and disregarding rising debt has been proven to not work. Please, let's get some new ideas in here for the 21st century.
Just proves over and over again that W. is a failure and the worst president ever. And this country re-elected him. Assholes.

No respect
I am beyond surprised, I am appalled at the compensation that many executives receive. I've been aware for awhile that this excessive compensation goes on, and they get away with it because no one on the board stops it. Nor do the shareholders. Companies lay off workers because one of the biggest costs that a company has is salaries/wages paid to employees. But these laid off people are the ones making under $100k, how many of these workers could be kept on by eliminating excessive compensation.
This appalling situation has really been spotlighted by the bailouts of these large companies. I worked at AIG for a very short while. They are using their bailout money to keep up their rich life style and those of their top earners. But... those same executives are the ones who screwed things up in the first place. In the more normal world where most of us live we would lose our jobs, income, for screwing up not get financial reward in spite of our screw ups. And we are not talking about just millions of dollars but billions.

instant meditation
I know ... 'Instant meditation' is contrary to regular meditation practice. But this is my method and I AM 'attention challenged' (also known as add or adhd). When I find myself scattered and not getting anything done and my anxiety level rising, I think about what it's like to meditate, get centered, quiet the chattering mind, maybe say a mantra like, 'thy will not mine be done', and, most importantly, take a deep breath. Believe it or not but I'm acually able to focus on what I'm doing or at least make a decision about what I'm going to work on next. Or maybe not, and continue to waste time on my email and cruising the internet. But sometime it helps and that's what's important. No judgement, it just is.

Ok, so I'm stuck on this Tarot thing. Whenever I come out here I'm reminded of it and have to do it. I think the wheel of fortune means I'm not very focused today. The wheel of fortune is not always a good thing. I guess I always thought of it that from being reminded of playing the wheels on the Seaside Heights boardwalk. I spent many hours of my childhood hanging on that boardwalk. But I've learned that the Wheel of Fortune is not good because it means anything could happen. I used to think that any change was better than no change at all but I've learned to be wary of change. It is not always a good thing. But things need to change. and that is the one constant is that things change. I guess I need to stay focused to try to influence things my way. I know that I can't control things but maybe I can put some energy into getting things to turn out my way (whatever that is). I guess I always figure my higher power has better things in mind for me than I could think up myself but I'm still waiting... I need to still do the footwork (whatever that is). Just do it, DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT, I can't keep waiting around for the perfect thing to come along or fear that i'm missing out on something else or cutting off my chances. I guess I'm one of those people afraid to commit that I'll miss something better (or the perfect something).

Which tarot card are you?
This card is about letting go. I think it means a change of perspective and/or attitude. This is another of my favorite cards.

You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins
the journey into the unknown. To do this, he
does not regard the world he knows as firm and
fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard
for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is
seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the
sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In
order to explore and expand, one must disregard
convention and conformity. Those in the throes
of convention look at the unconventional,
non-conformist personality and think What a
fool. They lack the point of view to understand
The Fool's actions. But The Fool has roots in
tradition as one who is closest to the spirit
world. In many tribal cultures, those born with
strange and unusual character traits were held
in awe. Shamans were people who could see
visions and go on journeys that we now label
hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with
physical differences had experience and
knowledge that the average person could not
understand. The Fool is God. The number of the
card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect
circle. This circle represents both emptiness
and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by
mountains and valleys or by his physical body.
He does not accept the appearance of cliff and
air as being distinct or real. Image from: Mary
