FactCheck.org - Annenberg Political Fact Check

This site is a good resource for checking the facts, it supposedly is non-partisan.

OK, so I missed August, I guess I was too irate about the Republican Convention and all of the lies. I tried to listen to it but they call the Democrats liars. So now who is right? I guess I don't listen to anyone who checks the facts about what the Dems say but I have seen and heard alot about the lies and 'spin'(nice way to say lie) of the neocons and the evidence is there.

AND... the highjacking of the media(tv, radio, and newspapers) by the neocons. They thrive on broadcasting lies, they don't seem to care much about the real facts (they like to make up their own) one source starts the lie and by the end of the day they have all repeated it so many times that no one can tell it from the truth and even the (more) honest media has to end up reporting on it because it looks like real news (instead of the lies it really is).

AND.. zell miller is an asshole. Good, let him go over to the other side. AND... what about the neocons want to throw the moderates out of the Republican party. These people are really assholes.

what channel are they watching?

I am surprised when i hear people that still support Bush (that aren't CEOs or Halliburton employees) don't they read the same newspapers that i do ... what channel are they watching? (Oh yeah, i understand... Limbaugh, OReilly, etc.) I watched the convention on Channel 13 ( NYC public television). I really enjoyed their coverage...those 2 guys... Brooks and Shields(?). The Online NewsHour . I am suprised that everyone doesn't realize that this election is important, we can make a difference in how this country is perceived by the world or even more importantly how the US operates/cooperates with other countries. We, the US, need friends. I have been guilty in the past of not believing whatever party was in office would have much of an affect on my day to day life. If it's the Republicans at least i have someone to blame when shit happens. But.... I think it's important to get the megalomaniacs out of the West Wing and get someone in there who actually believes and understands diplomacy.

Stratton, Vermont Posted by Hello

i am suprised...

i was speaking with someone last nite and they were complaining about their inlaws mistreating them. inlaws are like any family, they treat you like s--- but you still have to deal with them (i'm guessing because i have neither inlaws nor children but i still have to deal with family and co-workers). this person was angry and hurt by their inlaws actions and instead of accusing them(get everyone defensive) or exposing one's soft spot with "i'm hurt" try using "i'm suprised...". well, i liked this solution so i thought i'd try it out here.
i'm surprised... we have such a dope for a president and a mean, sneak for a vp.
i'm suprised... i still haven't been able to find a job that pays enough to support me in this 'growing(haha)' economy.
i'm suprised... someone i know came home drunk last night and was immediately thrown out of the place she was living(the disease of alcoholism sucks).
i'm surprised... at the messy state my apartment is in with stacks of papers, magazines and books piled around and how overwhelmed i am at dealing with it.
i'm suprised... that i've never gotten married, i always thouht i'd eventually get around to it.
i am suprised ... that republicans get away with the shit they throw around accusing opponents of things that have only the slimmest truth to them or are blatantly false. i feel both at the same time that the Dems should fight fire with fire and dig into just as much dirt on the republicans but am glad the Dems rise above and don't stoop to the level of the republicans.
